Dr. E unveils his award-winning healthy seafood recipe!
First, let us get our pertinent facts in order: Cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are closely related substances that are extracted from hemp and cannabis (marijuana) plants respectively. Generally, the difference between hemp and marijuana is in the concentration of tetrahydrocannabinol that has hallucinating effects. It is said that Marijuana has more THC and hemp has more CBD. Since hemp and marijuana are two forms of the same plant species, Cannabis sativa, extracts of each plant may contain both substances but at different quantities.
A new US industry is growing at a fast rate! Legal sales of hemp products have progressively become popular across the world, and specifically the US. This is in part due to the widely accepted assumption that only hemp that has less than 0.3% THC can be legally sold to the public. This has been one of the major causes to lead to the boom of the hemp and CBD industry. Currently it is projected that by the year 2022 the CBD industry will exceed 20 billion.
Presumed Medical and Health Benefits of CBD: CBD is claimed to have a wide range of medical and health benefits. It is currently used by many who believe in alternative medicine for the management of a variety of conditions such as anxiety, insomnia, movement disorders, pain disorder, musculoskeletal ailments, epilepsy/seizures, acne, cancer, high blood cholesterol and high blood pressure. As you can tell these proclaimed applications of CBD require further evaluations and scientific investigations. However, please allow me to be fair a little and until such time that we can nail down the association of the CBD with the aforementioned health benefits, give them all the benefit of the doubt! After all doubt is the key that opens the door to the world of new discoveries.

CBD Products in the Market: A common recent trend in the health food industry is mixing CBD with any substance or product that has widespread popularity for promoting health.
